Creating SMS Location Based Campaigns

You can compose and push multiple SMS messages to multiple recipients using locations. User can configure different message with respect to each area or location and the maximum number of areas that can be selected is 5. In location based campaign User does not upload MSISDNs. Target users get the message if their location information matches with the location configured during broadcast else a default message is pushed. If the default message is not configured SMP drops that MSISDN. User can configure different message with respect to each area or location and the maximum number of areas that can be selected is 5. In CBS MSISDN based campaign User uploads MSISDNs. You can also push silent location based campaigns.

To create a location-based SMS campaigns:

Campaign Management > Launch Campaigns > SMS > Location-Based

General Information

1.     In Campaign Name, enter the name of the SMS campaign.

2.     From Campaign Category, select the category of a campaign.

3.     Click   to schedule the campaign for a later date.

4.     Click to select the activation date to schedule the campaign for a later date.

5.     Enter the other field values as required.

6.     Click Next.

Compose Message

7.     From Promotional Category, select the category to which this campaign belongs.

8.     From Sender Address, select the ID of the sender.

9.     From City, select a city.

10.  From Region, select a region associated with the selected city.

11.  Click   to compose a message for the selected location area or region.

12.  Enter the message text in the given text box

13.  Click OK.

14.  Click Submit.

15.  Click Next.

Add Recipients

16.  From Recipient Selection Type, select Configure static MSISDNs to enter or select the MSISDNs based on the mobile number availability at the location the campaign is broadcasted.

Or

Select Fetch MSISDNs dynamically to fetch the MSISDNs dynamically based on the location.

17.  Click Next.

Summary

The summary of the campaign is displayed.

18.  Click Launch Campaign to launch the campaign. This screen displays the campaign ID of the sent message. The campaign ID is a unique ID assigned by SMP to each campaign submitted. The reports can be generated based on campaign IDs.
